The "Le Début" Concepts

 Le Début.

Or the commencement of VING MING designs.

I do try to steer away from popular practices/ cliches in anything I'm involved in (like naming the shoe), but in this case calling each shoe by its physical description (Black Suede Pump) doesn't rhyme with VING MING. So, I resorted to naming them after the spirit for which the shoe is meant to embody. My main inspirations for these come mainly from the 80s edgy glamor with visually teasing shapes. The design closest to my heart has to be the PennyCopy booties.

And yes, I am very aware the double usage of 'the' in the title. Indulge.

Variety In Church's Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

Owned by the Prada group, Church's Fall/Winter 2012 collection showcases some interesting experimentation with their footwear. As you can see, there are similarities with the designs of the "Walking In Milano" Prada collection.  The innovations lie on the sole, which is thicken for a more casual feel and even some offer a multi-colored camouflage design in dark tones – a good decision on focusing on the sole but not so on the camo-print. Personally, even though it might work for some, I can't seem to process the idea of the classically decorated design mixing with the modern camouflage print. There is a wide variety of styles to choose from but my favorite of this batch has got to be the penny loafers (2nd photo). They have a very suave, sophisticated & mature feel to it but the grainy wooden sole gives it a little more ruggedness.

Being Dandy With Miu Miu Shoes

This time for the A/W 2012 collection, Miu Miu went for a groovy late 60s vibe. Luxurious looking material with bold statements. I like the lacquered-look on the 3 loafers which allows it to be worn for more dressy occasions and sharpens the look to an otherwise vintage design. The vivid colors & print on print combo of the shoes are rich but delicate to the eye, probably because of the velvet-ish material. The chunky designs, besides adhering to the manly tailoring theme of the show, allows a fuller showcase of the exotic prints. Nice.

I threw in some bag shots that I particularly fancied.
